Love this little Gem of Swanley!
I have been here numerous times because it’s the nicest place to eat in Swanley and the food and service from the staff is spot on!! If you go on a Saturday night it will be busy so book well advance like we did. Alfie is the owner and he runs this tight ship so well, I had a party of 12 in there last night, the cocktail bar was busy with a staff party so Alfie moved our tables upstairs to one side after we had eaten, whacked on the music and we had a good old dance and was loving life! Thank you for the beautiful food, for constantly smiling even though you was run off your feet and for giving us a fantastic night

Saturday with our Grandchildren. We had a very pleasant afternoon here on the last of the September sunny days. Fish and chips all round in the beer garden which offers a very safe gated area for young athletes that need to run around all the time. Lovely welcome at the bar and very reasonably priced.

Great Service! Great Food! Walked in a little early but still managed to accommodate us without a fuss, sat down and the waitress Ellie welcomed us and was a perfect host, funny and efficient.
The new additions to the menu looked appetising and the lobster double stack burger I had was perfectly cooked. Wasn’t the first time we have been and will definitely come back again.

This review about the The Clove Tandoori comes from Jo of Swanley:
Well that was a surprise! Decided to try the Clove as recommended by friends... very pleased we did. Only minor quibble is the poppadoms were a little bit bendy. Sometimes happens when they're expecting a busy night, they batch cook them earlier in the day. Anyway, as I say that's the only thing they could have slightly improved upon. Service was excellent and attentive, despite the place being full. Food was absolutely delicious. The sag aloo for example was fresh tasting and delicately spiced. Elsewhere it's often just an oily green slurry!
Really enjoyed everything, the restaurant & loos are clean and our favourite dishes were better value than at some other places locally. Usually take a doggy bag home but it was so nice, there was nothing left!! Will defo return

Best Curry around! Lived in hextable for 5 years and haven’t found a curry to beat this. Been with friends, family, couples, husband. It’s modern has a private dining area. Has kept the same staff since I’ve been going since 2014. Great food, always busy so book for weekends. Service isn’t always brilliant because they are so busy but it’s a great curry house, good atmosphere and amazing food. I get takeaways all the time, always deliver within 45 mins and always good food.

5 star food, 2 star service!
Overall, I didn’t have a great time as I found the waiter quite pushy and didn’t make us feel welcome. We also had to ask for a jug of tap water 4 times before they actually took notice.
We were both happy with the curries as they were well presented and very tasty.

Pat from Swanley gives her thoughts about ordering a takeaway from Shishly:
Family takeaway, bought to us. Never used Shishly before, but was recommended by family. We were surprised by the huge size of the portions, but had been prewarned, so we had a portion between us. The rest of the family managed a portion each.
It was delicious and very filling. At first we were upset that the previious chinese restaurant had closed, but have been converted to Shishly.
This review is by Mirra from Swanley:
AMAZING!!!! Shishly is amazing and we are so glad this is in Swanley... such good flavours the family meal is such good value for money and food taste absolutely amazing. Whenever it is takeaway night it is always Shishly in our house. Only one thing I would say is that they need to offer a delivery service and have card payments.

John from Southfleet, gives his thoughts about his eating experience at the The Lamb Inn:
Good basic food in a friendly pub. We are two couples that lunch every three or four weeks at different local establishments and found this gem a while ago and decided to try it again to see if it was just as good as the first time we went there. It was!!!310briang goes on to say this:
There are no airs and graces about the place and what you see is what you get. Good food great pub atmosphere, excellent service, good value and a good laugh with the locals who do tend to hog the bar but then it is their pub!!
Great Cycling stop for lunch! Today a group of 10 cyclists called in for lunch at The Lamb.
Our bikes were shown the rear garden, and the gate was locked, so a plus there.
Inside, is a small, very traditional pub, with very friendly staff, and freshly prepared, typical “ pub grub”. The menu was quite extensive, and the pricing very reasonable.
The bathrooms were also kept nice and clean. Well worth the visit, and will definitely revisit.
10.Mottie Pie and Mash
Style: Quick Bites, Cafe, British34 Swanley Centre, Swanley, Kent BR8 7TL

Fancy a cooked English breakfast or traditional "pie and mash" then you need to pop into Mottie Pie & Mash and have try.
Craig from Bexley gives his thoughts about visiting Mottie's:
Worth a visit. I have been coming to this place for a few years now
Always have really good good. Usally have the breakfast which is excellent or the pie and mash which I love too. Today opted for the omelette was not disappointed. Service is friendly and welcoming
While leyam2015 from Swanley has quite a bit to say:
Not only delicious, but DELICIOUS!
I went to the counter and ordered, they said “it’s the best breakfast in Swanley” and they didn’t lie.
Bacon, sausage, beans, mushroom bread, tea and bubble... oh the bubble! It was gorgeous!
All good quality ingredients and all prepared just like mum would do.
It’s got an old fashioned lo-fi feel with plain wooden benches. No major frills or mood lighting, no over the top designer gear, that might add to the price of the meal.
It’s like an old fashioned traditional pie and mash shop.
The service is also old fashioned - in that they take the time to talk to you, keep you happy, welcoming with a “darling” and a “sweet”. It’s like stepping into the good old days of good service and good food and has me quite nostalgic.
I’ll be coming back for another best breakfast in Swanley.
There is much more to discover about Swanley.
